Addressing a press conference in Benin on Tuesday, Oshodin said out of 8,863 graduating students, 1,502 and 3,765 would graduate in the Second Class Upper and Second Class Lower divisions respectively.
According to the VC, 838 will graduate in Third Class, while five others will be awarded Pass degrees. This is aside from 226 to be awarded Post Graduate Diploma certificates, 1,080 Masters and 72 PhDs.
Oshodin also said Captain Idahosa Okunbor and Dr. Isa Odibi would get honourary doctorate awards at a ceremony to be witnessed by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Oshodin said the fingerprint biometric data capture exercise for staff and students was aimed at repositioning the university.
He said, “Earlier in the year we embarked on the fingerprint biometric data capture exercise for both staff and students of the university. Apart from the exercise helping to provide adequate records that will help the management plan for adequate service delivery.It will also help to eliminate the issue of ghost workers.”
