Arsenal fans should look
away now, because the latest big name tipped to join the Emirates exodus is Bacary Sagna, who looks set for a move to Inter Milan.
The injury-prone 29-year-old has 18 months left on his current deal, the Daily Mirror reports, and while you would think that no self-respecting club with trophy ambitions would dream of selling such a player, Arsenal have become something of a feeder club in recent years.
Insiders admit to the paper that there is “a growing feeling” he will go, with the emergence of Carl Jenkinson a factor. A deal is probable next summer.
Speaking of Arsenal stars, the big story on most of the back pages is Arsene Wenger’s fury about the England call-up for Jack Wilshere, with the Arsenal boss fuming that the midfielder is back in the national side having just returned from long-term injury.
“Crackers Jack” and “Wenger’s Jack Lash” are the pick of the pithy headlines, and indeed it’s hard not to have a bit of sympathy for the Gunners boss considering that we’re talking about a young player feeling his way back into the game after 15 months out.
