British songstress and songwriter, Adele is scheduled to perform the Oscar-nominated theme song from latest James Bond flick, Skyfall, at the 85th edition of the glamorous Oscar awards, coming up in February.
The producers announced today that the song, written by Adele and Paul Epworth, will be performed by the Rolling in the Deep singer, live for the first time ever, at the awards.
Skyfall, is the first Bond theme ever to debut in Bilboard’s Top 10 and the first one since “For Your Eyes Only” in 1981, to be nominated for an Oscar.
Meanwhile, the singer has expressed excitement, saying “It’s an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again.
“It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once.”
The Oscars, which will be presented on Sunday, 24th February and televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide, will be Adele’s first U.S. television performance since last year’s Grammys.
