AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani says the club have not given up hope of re-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Rossoneri have made little secret of their desire to bring the Sweden international back to San Siro this summer, with coach Sinisa Mihajlovic admitting his arrival would signify a major breakthrough.
Last week Ibrahimovic said he was happy at PSG and expects to see out the final year of his contract, but Galliani is refusing to concede defeat just yet.
“Zlatan
has a contract for another year with PSG, but we will see. The window
still has a long way to go. Let's see what happens,” Galliani told
reporters.
He
also refused to rule out a new bid for bid for Roma defender Alessio
Romagnoli, but insisted he was happy with the defensive options
currently available to Mihajlovic.
“We’ll
see,” he said. "Rodrigo Ely is doing very well, Cristian Zapata has
started well, and we have Gabriel Paletta, Alex and Philippe Mexes.
We’re definitely well covered.”
Milan
are currently in Munich for the Audi Cup where they will take on
Tottenham and Bayern Munich, having drawn 0-0 with Real Madrid in their
opening game of the pre-season tournament last week.
“This tournament features some of the best teams in the world,” he said.
“Milan are doing very well, we’re training well and we played with great character against Real Madrid.”
