Movement for Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) under the leadership of Uchenna Madu, yesterday attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for saying that Boko Haram sect has no link with ISIS terrorist group.
“Buhari’s statement that Boko Haram has no link with ISIS proves his alleged sympathy for the group.”
Meanwhile, immediate younger brother of detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, Kanunta Kanu, has accused the founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike of betraying Ndigbo by using the Biafran struggle to enrich himself. He has also demanded an apology from Uwazuruike for insulting Ndigbo. Kanunta alleged that when Uwazuruike started the struggle with few others, people had so much trust and confidence in him and added that the MASSOB leader has betrayed the people who put so much hope on him. “I know Uwazuruike one on one and what I know about him and that of IPOB are two different ball games. At the on set of the struggle, everybody believed him, our people believed him until when he disappointed our people, everybody knows that he disappointed us.”
A statement signed by the National Director of Information of MASSOB Mr. Samuel Edeson stated thus: “For clarity purposes, MASSOB wishes to inform Biafrans that our members were not killed or engaged with police or any rival in combat or public fighting.”
“Our investigation shows that the ugly incident was caused by overzealousness and military tendencies of Ralph Uwazuruike- led Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) members, who wreaked the havoc and not MASSOB led by Uchenna Madu.”
“It will be noted that when the leadership of MASSOB expelled Uwazuruike on November 30, 2015 at MASSOB headquarters, Okwe, over alleged criminal activities, financial recklessness, open political romance with Nigeria Government/Hausa Fulani and deviation from the Biafra Struggle, he quickly formed this new group called Biafra Independent Movement (BIM ), Some former MASSOB members still loyal to him switched over with him, they became BIM members. Since then, they ceased to be called MASSOB members,” Edeson stated.
“Unfortunately, some members of the public see them as MASSOB members even some confused ones among them still parade themselves as members of MASSOB. Since our new leader, Uchenna Madu took over the leadership of MASSOB with Okwe as it’s headquarters, MASSOB underwent a rigorous transformation and new orientations with human face, a new MASSOB that carries Ndigbo along where every genuine Igboman is a stakeholder.” MASSOB advice members of BIM to go by their name, you can’t be a BIM member and MASSOB member at the same time. People should stop allowing themselves to be deceived”.
“Today, Buhari is defending the Boko Haram from ISIS because the International community condemns the ISIS with all their alliances & associates including his Boko Haram which the Hausa/Fulani uses as pressure factor to clinch the presidency. MASSOB draw the attention of the International community to this diplomatic damage and abortion by President Buhari.
“Buhari is busy granting Amnesty and soft landing to Hausa/Fulani Boko Haram while our brother, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Benjamin Onwuka and others are languishing in different prisons in Nigeria,” Edeson stated.
