On Sunday May 15, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu paraded robbery, kidnapping and rape suspects after he did that, he released a statement warning the public to desist from spreading false rumours about impending attacks and causing unnecessary fear within different communities. He said those found guilty will be prosecuted.

He also advised those with any useful information to get in touch with the nearest police Division or through the command's operation room numbers on 08032003702 and 08098880172 amongst others for necessary action.
He made this known on the occasion of his maiden brief of the press about his command's readiness to ensuring safety and security recently at the conference room of the state Headquarters Enugu.
He used the platform to commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones at Nimbo in Uzouwani Local Government Area of the state and revealed that the Inspector General of police IGP Solomon E.Arase had already dispatched a high powered Investigative team from Force Criminal Investigations Department Abuja to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the incident, with a view to fishing out those involved in the dastardly act.
He told the press that he has visited Nimbo and Adani communities since his assumption of duty as the commissioner of police Enugu state to have on the spot assessment of the area,interact with the various stake holders of the communities and also to find out the state of deployment.
Ojukwu rolled out some of his remarkable achievements within the short period of his arrival to the state to include the arrest of eleven suspects involved in the alleged cases of illegal manufacture of firearms, kidnapping and armed robbery who were nabbed recently in Enugu Ezike Igboeze North local Government Area of Enugu state.

"The Enugu state commissioner of police Emmanuel Ojukwu has advised those in the habit of spreading rumour of impending attack of some communities in the state to desist from it or risked being prosecuted as such is capable of causing panic and fear in the minds of the law abiding citizens of the state".According to Ojukwu, measures have been put in place for the safety and security of communities in the state through relevant partnership with stake holders to ensure that there is peace in the communities and warn that rumour mongering creates fear and panic in the minds of the people.
